Personal fitness training encompasses several fields. A good personal fitness trainer should have a profound understanding of exercise form, biochemistry, endocrinology, human physiology, dietetics including supplementation, and psychology. For it is the confluence of these, that enables a good personal fitness trainer to get a person into shape. Do not confuse personal training with coaching. Personal fitness training is about obtaining a desirable physique, coaching is about making someone proficient in a particular discipline, whether it, be running, swimming, dancing etc.
The most important thing to realize is that the human body has genetic limitations, and whether a person chooses to go the natural route, or the artificially enhanced route ie. Using, thermogenics, anabolic steroids, and or growth hormone, their personal fitness trainer should have a profound understanding of these concepts. I take no moral judgment on the use of synthetic ergogenic compounds. Most personal fitness trainers would have you believe, that you may achieve a certain level without the use of drugs like anabolic steroids and growth hormone. But this is simply not, the case, you have to clearly lay out what you desire from your physique, and accept certain trades, that may have to be made. Most people will be able to achieve an above average physique, drug free, but the body does have endocrinological limitations when Read more..

I started training in 1986, weighing 58 kg (128 lb). Having a low self-esteem, I decided to start lifting weights in an attempt to build some muscle. I had picked up a Flex magazine at the local newsagent and was impressed by the physiques. I began reading all the material I could lay my hands on, but this only raised more questions than answers.
The publications were filled with conflicting opinions and methods, and I’m disappointed to see that nothing has changed - however I persevered. I trained with little success for the first 4 years. I had used all types of supplements without success until I discovered I was overlooking the obvious – FOOD. From that point on, I researched nutrition diligently. Food is the key to your success.
Lisa Krog
My Wife and partner of 8 years was an avid cardio junkie before I met her, running 10 km a day, and living on fruit and fat-free yoghurt. Lisa weighed around 49 kg with a body fat percentage of around 22%. Though she was thin, she wasn’t super lean. After we met I changed her training regime entirely.
Lisa now weighs approximately 53 kg with 9.5% body fat. To work that out, she has increased her lean mass by 9.75kg from 38.2 to 47.9 kg, and dropped her fat weight from 10.8 kg to 5 kg. You can see photos in the before and after section. We never train for more than 35 minutes per day, 5 days a week.
